Case Report
Congenital dermoid cysts of the central nervous system are rare lesions. Congenital dermoid cysts located over the anterior fontanel are reported in two Turkish infants. These two cases are examples of such a lesion in an infant of non-African descent.
We report a case of local metastasis of an anaplastic astrocytomas in a six-year-old boy, occurring four months after a stereotaxic biopsy. In central nervous system, implantation metastasis after stereotaxic biopsy is a rare complication. The morphology of this particular dissemination is discussed...
Lhermitte-Duclos disease is a rare disorder characterized by a slowly enlarging mass lesion in the cerebellum. A case of histopathologically confirmed Lhermitte-Duclos disease is reported and our findings are discussed.
Delayed holocalvarial synostosis is an uncommon form of craniosynostosis. We report in this article two children with delayed holocalvarial synostosis. Neurological examination was normal but skull X-rays showed diffuse digital impressio and synostosis of all calvarial sutures in both patients. The ...

N -methyl- D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor-mediated events have been implicated in the pathophysiology of spinal cord injury. This study examines the effects of two NMDA receptor antagonists, CPPene (3-(2-carboxypiperazin-4-yl)1-propenyl-l-phosphonic acid) and MK-801 (dizocilpine maleate) after 50 gm-cm...

We examined the frequency and clinical relevance of intracranial artery stenoses in patients with central nervous system (CNS) infections in whom the occurrence of stroke has angiographically been reported to be associated with stenoses or occlusions of the cerebral arteries. Thirty-eight patients w...
A statistical comparison is made between neurological conditions and areas of lower lumbar spinal structures, as ascertained by CT-myelography, in patients with lumbar complaints. CT-myelography was taken of 38 patients with low back pain and/or radicular pain complaints, most of whom were suffering...
Stereotaxy-guided surgery offers significant advantages in the treatment of lesions that cannot be localised reliably because of their smaIl size and/or lack of evident landmarks. A stereotactical1y-guided craniotomy and microsurgical resection technique was described for excision of a cavernous hem...

For extra-foraminal localization, the surgical technique of lumbar far lateral disc herniations are distinct from those situated medial to the facet joint. In this study the extra-foraminal space was approached by a posterior route by means of median or paramedian incisions and a posteralateral rout...
Anatomy of the ophthalmic nerve should be well known in order to perform safe surgical intervention to the Parkinson's triangle, the orbit, and for the causes leading to the superior orbital fissure syndrome. Thirty ophthalmic nerves rising from the trigeminal ganglion and course in the cavernous si...
The factors for recommending postoperative VP shunt insertion in twenty-eight pediatric patients, previously operated on for posterior fossa tumor, without V-P shunt preoperatively are investigated in this study. Age, sex, the preoperative duration for high intra-cranial pressure (lCP) signs, the pr...

Computerized tomography is highly reliable in the diagnosis of subarachnoid haemorrhage, especially during the first week. When contrast material is administered, it is also possible to demonstrate an aneurysm. In this retrospective study, we looked for any relationship between hyperdense fillings o...
